Dr. Run Wang is the Professor of Surgery (Urology) and Cecil M. Crigler, MD Chair in Urology at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, Texas, USA. He is also the Professor of Urology and Director of Sexual Medicine in the Department of Urology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and previously served as the Chief of Urology at the Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital in Houston, Texas, USA. Dr. Wang holds honorary/concurrent/visiting professorships in numerous national and international universities. He is the executive chair and the secretary general for the World Chinese Urological Society and the treasurer for the Sexual Medicine Society of North America.
Dr. Wang received his medical degree from the Southeast University Medical College in China. He completed his urology residency at the Medical College of Georgia in August, Georgia, USA and Andrology/ Sexual Dysfunction Fellowship at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. He is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons and board certified in Urology. He is a member of the American Urological Association, American Society of Andrology, American Association of Clinical Urologists, Endourological Society, Sexual Medicine Society of North America, Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons, International Society of Andrology, International Society of Sexual Medicine, and the Society of University Urologists.
Dr. Wang has authored more than 100 articles and chapters in peer-reviewed journals and books. He also served as an associate editor, editorial member and reviewer for many medical and research journals. Dr. Wang is also elected as the board member, committee chair and congress president/chair in various societies and scientific meetings. He served as a panelist for WHO sponsored Consultations in Sexual Medicine in 2009.
Dr. Wang’s research interests are male sexual function, benign prostate hyperplasia, erectile dysfunction as a result of prostate cancer treatment, penile rehabilitation and male infertility.
